Re: eczema and wrapping

I think this is good information and may be helpful to some. My dermatologist told me to wrap. I tried wet and dry. I could not keep it on for more than a few minutes. It felt oppressive in a way that is really hard to describe. I had a severe emotional reaction to it. It also would start to burn. Looking back the burning was probably because at the time my arms and hands were infected. Putting any fabric or other material on my skin caused it to begin weeping. I put a towel or other fabric over my sheets at night and changed it daily. I haven't tried wrapping since the infections cleared up. I haven't felt the need. I have been infection free for over a year now. I had a different dermatologist tell me to soak my hands and arms in vinegar and water (1 tablespoon vinegar to 1 cup water) 10 minutes 2 times daily. I haven't had an infection since. And when my skin does become swollen and cracked it is very soothing a while after soaking. I only soak a couple of times each month.

Re: eczema and wrapping

Thanks for your share and really glad that your skin has recovered. For those trying out wet/dry wrap, you may want to experiment with different brands and if you're having an infection, it's best to check with the doctor first esp when the additional occlusion offered by wrap is not meant to go with topical medication (except moisturizer).

Take care everyone and have a good 'skin' start to the week,
