was prescribed steroid for eyelid

I'm new to the forum. Two weeks ago something that felt scaly and local formed on one eyelid. I was busy and didn't check much. There is a big flake of skin, like a scab. I went to a walk-in clinic since my doctor just retired. The dr. there said it was eczema and prescribed Hydrocortisole Acetate 1%. The info that I'm reading on-line says that near the eye, it can be absorbed in the bloodstream and cause pressure to build in the eye (glaucoma) and build cataracts. This made me quite uneasy.

The whole experience is new to me.
