Phototherapy

Hi everybody, this is my first ever post on this forum, despite being here for quite a while now. I suffer from atopic dermatitis and have since I was 2 months old. I recently had the opportunity to undergo a phototherapy treatment (due to it being approved by my health insurance) and wanted to know if anyone's had luck with it? I rarely see posts here discussing it and was surprised when my dermatologist told me it wasn't that new.

I know that it's not a guarantee that my eczema will be gone but I thought it was worth a shot- at this rate, I'll literally try any new treatment there is. I've only had a few sessions so far and haven't seen any changes yet; my dermatologist did say it took at least 3 months to see changes so I'm really praying for that. For now, I'm still having days where it's terrible and days where I can bear it. I pray for you all going through your journey- don't give up!

Hi! It sounds like you have a good communication going with your dermatologist and yes, phototherapy isn't new. People come out from the treatment with mixed results but I suppose if your dermatologist is closely monitoring your response to the treatment and it's covered by insurance, it's worth a try. Hope all get better soon! Take care.
