what do you look for in a treatment?

My eczema is a struggle everyday. Finding things to help relieve my pain is another struggle. What do you look for in a treatment? What do you want it to do for you? What would you like to see as a form of treatment

I was looking to the dermatologists for a treatment since they're specialists that studied skin disorders and they've worked in the business for years. Unfortunately the only thing prescribed that worked was steroids which can not be used for long periods of time due to their side effects. After that I didn't know what to look for other than to look on the web. I found talkhealth eczema. A woman stated a doctor recommended castor oil, neem leaves and camphor that healed her eczema for 5 years and running. That was enough for me to research those items as well as repairing skin. The skin barrier or acid mantle is made up of a layers of dead skin cells bound together by a mixture of fatty acids, ceramides and cholesterol lipids that prevents loss of water from the deeper layers of the skin also to stop harmful elements from penetrating into the skin. This can get damaged. It can also be repaired. Oils high in fatty acids can repair the skin barrier. Castor oil is high in fatty acids. I've found other testimonials that have had success with castor oil. So far it's been working for me. From my research 1 of 3 things treat eczema: Repairing the skin barrier, treating a leaky gut and/or diet elimination of trigger foods (typically dairy and/or grains).
