Re: METHOTREXATE
Hi Anna
I am so sorry that Dan is still struggling so much and completely understand what you are saying about the prednisolone. It is so hard when you are just trying to get through the day. I really hope that having the methotrexate by injection helps. James's specialist was not willing to keep James on a treatment for tha long if it was not working. If James had not shown any significant improvement at the 3 month mark of being on azathioprine he would have taken him off it and looked into other treatments. It is interesting how all specialists work differently.
James has now been of azathioprine since the 8th April. He was on this medication for 6 months in total and his specialist was not happy to keep him on this treatment for longer than this. He wil be willing to use this treatment for James in the future though. James is now starting to flare but the eczema is not out of ontrol yet. We still use protopic 0.1% twice daily which we were using when James was on the azathioprine as advised by his specialist. We also use 50/50 for emollient as this is the one James finds most acceptable.

Thank you x
Re: METHOTREXATE
How is Dan?
James was doing so well but things have gone severely downhill this last 2 weeks. I am hoping it is related to the weather and that his skin will start to improve soon. If not a call into his specialist wil be needed.

Hi Kerry
Dan is not in a good way either but had gone downhill before the heat started. He is in paste bandages evernight, on steroids and antibiotics. I am starting to doubt we will make it through our holiday
Both my kids are sleeping with frozen hot water bottles which are providing some relief.

Re: METHOTREXATE
I am sorry to hear that Dan is still having such a rough time. It is so hard to see them suffer like that. I like the idea of a frozen hot water bottle, will definitely give that a try.

Re: METHOTREXATE
You mean the waterbottle is the type that insulates? And you put water in to freeze, so it will stay cool through the night? Will it be very hard? Or there's a soft material water bottle?

Re: METHOTREXATE
The one you would normally take to bed with hot water to keep you warm. Yes it goes hard but the kids just love it, they are happy to just have coolness
