Neck & Facial Eczema - Anyone Help??

I ahve sufferd with Eczema for all of my life, I do not smoke or drink, I file my nails every other day, my house is very fresh & new & cleaned with a Dyson. I use Surcare as my washing powder & simple or coal tar soap for shaving.

I use the below for the treatment of my Eczema:

Eumovate (Clobetasone Butyrate) - Face and neck - daily
Nerisone - Hands / Legs / Back & Chest
Doublebase Moistureiser - all over daily
Oilatum Emolient - for bathing (I avoid showers)

I have used Prednisilone three times in teh last twleve months to gain control of my Eczema but this cannot go on, these are very potent tablets with long lasting side effects if used too much.

My facial & neck Eczema is the wrost it has ever been, I am bright red wit weeping areas around my nose and eyes and it is becoming unbearable.

Can anyone offer me advice on either medication or any thoughts on how to try and gain control??

Any help would be most apprecited!

Thank You.

James

Hi James,

Any allergy tested? That could point you to what's triggering your eczema.

Re: Neck & Facial Eczema - Anyone Help??

I was given Pro-Topic that cleans up my face eczema so well! unfortunately my new insurance grades Pro-Topic as a "C" so they want me to pay $300 to get this medicine. My face also use to weep and be nasty red where it looked like I was sunburned all the time. Pro-Topic worked so well within a week my dermatologist was amazed by how well my skin looked. I only try to use Pro-Topic about once or twice every 2-3 weeks when my eczema seems to flare. On off days I use petroleum Jelly.

Protopic is a TCI, usually prescribed for thinner parts of the skin as maintenance therapy, good it worked for you! :)
