Raised lump on leg

I have had this raised lump for a number of years I had it checked by the doctors but they said it was nothing, over the part few days I have noticed it is much redder, (used to be a freckle colour) it's like the skin cells are raised and feels scaly, should I get it checked again don't want to waste the doctors time, when I was younger I had a lot of sun burning am fair skinned and have a lot of moles.

Your advice is much appreciated

Re: Raised lump on leg

Dear Harri12,

I would recommend going back to your GP and getting this checked out again. Even if you were reassured in the past, the fact that the lesion has changed means that it should be checked out again. With your fair skin, lots of moles, history of sunburn and a history of a changing lesion (lump) it is really important to get things checked it again. GP's and dermatologists would much rather see a patient with risk factors and a changing lesion early rather than for someone to delay getting things checked out.

Book an appointment with your GP, ( who may have online booking - if so request an appointment now) and if the GP is worried they can refer you to the local dermatologist to be seen in two weeks.

I hope this helps.

Dear Harri112,

just to say that I completely agree with Dr Bowling: if lesion (lump) changed it is a good idea to check it again.
