Does your eczema subside when ill?

I've noticed that when I'm ill my eczema stops bothering me and I barely feel the need to scratch. Has anyone else noticed this...or does yours do the opposite?

Maybe when my immune system has a real threat to deal with it stops wasting energy on fighting my own body.

Or perhaps when ill I'm just less exposed to irritants (e.g. I may do less washing up).

I only get it on my hands, for reference.

Re: Does your eczema subside when ill?

Interesting and hope the eczema will continue to subside even after recovery! I noticed in my daughter that when an illness increases temperature, she would scratch more but not if it doesn't. If it's just the hands, it's likely reduced exposure to irritants! Maybe that's a clue to start looking at what comes into contact with hands :) stay safe!

Just wear washing up gloves, moberg79!

I do a lot of cleaning and ALWAYS use rubber gloves.
