My Eczema Cure

Hi guys. I've never posted here before and there's a strong chance I never will again. I wanted to share my experiences and what fixed my eczema so that hopefully others can feel the same relief I do. This wasn't a patch or two, I have/had full body eczema on every imaginable part of my body. Eczema so intense it hurt to walk. I lost jobs, friends, and essentially became a recluse at home suffering nonstop. I became depressed waking at night countless times until I would break down crying. The itching was so intense I would claw as hard as I could until the skin would break. It brought me to the point of suicidal thoughts. I saw many dermatologists who kept giving me the same creams and options, nothing helped. I tried everything from Oolong tea to Methotrexate. Last September I got MRSA from my constant open wounds and was hospitalized for 4 days. I had surgery to open 10 seperate abscesses which had reached to size of baseballs. After I was released I had many more returns to the ER for the persistent infections and was told I would have to live with it.

Finally, I decided to see an allergist. This man saved my life. He did skin tests just like I had when I was a kid. He didn't prick or inject, just took 60 different allergens and set them on my back for 15 minutes. This was one of the most miserable experiences in my life but it was well worth it. Turns out, I am allergic to countless foods and I was completely unaware. Wheat, soy, corn, eggs, pork, chicken, tomatoes, cherries, and the list goes on. These reactions arn't life threatening but are so subtle they only go to my skin. My diet mainly consists of milk products, beef, rice, and turkey. Suddenly, I could sleep. I would go days without scratching, and my skin began to heal. I wasn't embarrassed for people to see me in public. Placebo effect? I'm having a nice outbreak of eczema now and after some searching to find out what caused it the coffee creamer I've been dumping into my coffee the last couple of days is made with soy.

As of now it's slowly clearing up. The most difficult part of this is realizing how much food is made with my allergens. Soda has corn so I only drink Pepsi Throwback made with sugar. The only safe salad dressing is olive oil, vinegar, and sugar. People are shocked at my allergies and try to empathize but I don't care. I really don't. The relief I have experienced and the ability to get my life back is all the matters. The price I paid was nothing more than slight inconvenience at this point.

Like I said before. I wanted to share this with others because Dermatologists never shed light on this option. They all told my it's a disease, try to manage it. Please, call an Allergist that is willing to work with Eczema. Respond and share your experiences. I want everyone who is experiencing this horrible, debilitating disease to have one more option.

Hi calebamueller,

Thanks for sharing your experience and finding out what triggers eczema via allergy testing is certainly a great way for people to manage their eczema.

Cheers

Hey,

I have recently had a flare up of eczema, without ever having had any problem with this condition. Through online research I discovered that a major cause of eczema is attributed to bad dieting, but my doctor only prescribes cortisol creams in combination with daktarin. I have been doing some research on these sites.

Your post mostly implies that it is due to dieting, but is it also wise to start of with some creams in the beginning to keep the eczema in check?

Persons going through eczema flare-ups are having a very tough time, this is something that Talkhealth as well as moderators in this forum understand. It is best not to insist that a solution that works for one will work for another. Clinical studies of sufficient size and validated with other studies are important basis for treatments.

Take care everyone!

I wouldn't be drinking Pepsi AT ALL with Eczema.
