Are immunosuppressants the best thing for eczema??

Hi I have had eczema from I was 2 weeks old and now I am 21 I have had nothing but bother from my skin for the past year. I have serve atopic eczema and have all my life and I never realised how much it effected my life until last year when I had to take the year out of university because I had missed so much class between hospital visits and being admitted to the dermatology ward.

I was put onto ciclosporin last September and I now have a skin flare up every other week! To be honest I think my skin has gotten worse from I started the tablets Not only has my skin been bad but my health itself has been effected! I am constantly getting infections from chest to uti's. I am sick of being sick! My doctor is suggesting that I start a new tablet from my skin but is only suggesting the next one up from the one I am on.

I guess I am just wondering if anyone could suggest any tablets they have been put on for their skin so I have more options rather than just what is the cheapest for the NHS.

Any suggestions would be amazing!!!!

steroids don't work , they just surprise the problem. Ive gone all natural now and even though the detoxing process was very hard, id recommend it. Check out flawless program and cureezcema slowly to have a read

Hey!

First of all I'm very sorry that you have to go through this but you have to stay strong ok :D I know it's hard to deal with it every single day and it affects your lifestyle but You still have to endure and just take it as a challenge :D

Secondly, are you using steroid creams? Because I know that steroid creams are actually bad for your skin as it thins your skin making yourself to look reddish. These creams and medicines have side effects and although those creams and medicines may helped you to not feel itchy and painful, it doesn't really attack the root of the problem. It only helped to reduce the symptoms and pain.

Thirdly, I may have a solution to this and it is stem cell therapy. Currently I'm dealing with stem cell distribution and it has helped a lot of people that suffered from eczema just like you! Our products consist of organic ingredients that I'm sure could not only help with your skin condition but could also help with other issues that you face like acne issues, hormonal imbalance and it helps to boost your immune system too. And I know how it feels like to take medicines Everyday just to feel good but this product is a supplement and we don't want to cause a dependency on it! So once you see the difference, you can either stop taking it or take it as a form of maintenance! :D I really want to help you and the people around me and I'm sure you want to overcome the challenge right? So feel free to reply me! :D

Re: Are immunosuppressants the best thing for eczema??

Hi there,
I started having eczema 10 years ago when I was 29. Skin specialists prescribed me steroid creams first and then over the years when my rash started spreading to my whole body, I was prescribed oral steroids predinisolone. It went away when I had them and when I stopped (tapered), it came back. Skin specialists didn't treat my root cause at that time and kept suppressing my rash. One of them prescribed me ciclosprorin and I felt uncomfortable on the side effect : I had fast heartbeat occasionally and easily got flu and infections but of course at that time my rash were under control. However, I felt uncomfortable for taking such a strong medication for skin rash which I would consider not life threatening and it didn't go away even when I tapered it down. So I decided to taper down and stop it entirely. The problem with such immune suppression medication is that you cannot suddenly stop the medication.
So once I stopped, my rash flared up with a vengeance. I suffered a lot trying to manage it and went to a GP who advised me to adjust my diet and found my allergy root cause. After my alkaline eczema diet, my skin slowly recovered and I avoided chemical and dust mites as much as I could. My eczema is still around because now I have sensitive skin but it's much more manageable and with my diet, I hardly feel itchy and red.
So I typically strongly reconsider starting on any immunosuppresants but rather do patch or prick test first to find the root cause and avoid them.
