make up and eczema
Hi,
I suffer with eczema and have done all my life but have found No7 make up seems to be okay with my skin, however make up remover is an issue as they all seem to effect my skin so I not only end up with eczema but also spots due to not being able to remove my eczema efficiently.
Does anyone know of any good make up removers or specialist sensative skin make up??
Thank you

Re: make up and eczema
I use NARS presently which doesn't aggravate my atopic dermatitis, but I don't think it's necessarily the best option. Though, if you haven't tried it, usually a make-up counter will give you a sample of their foundation to try it out. I've also used Glo Minerals which is free of a lot of irritants and allergens; so, if that's available in your area, it's worth a try, too. Also, if possible, try to get a consult with a dermatologist who also offers cosmetics. If it's not possible, speak to your dermatologist about it. More and more dermatologists are educating themselves about non-medical issues, like make-up; so, hopefully you can find one who can help you with this.
Regarding make-up removers, RMS Coconut Cream (pure coconut oil in a solid state) works quite well as a make-up remover, assuming you do not have an allergy. Any coconut oil should be fine though, as long as it's a good quality one. Unfortunately, like everything eczema, it's a trial-and-error type of thing. But, good luck. I'm sure there is a product out there that will work.

Re: make up and eczema
Hi there.
I suggest trying a sample of Ultrabland, which is a cleanser from the brand, Lush. They're more than happy to give you samples of things and this really worked for me as it is mainly all natural ingredients like beeswax. It might also be worth trying a sample of their moisturiser Dream Cream, which is the most effective moisturiser I've found so far.
Good luck!

Re: make up and eczema
Hello
I went through a few months when I had to take my make up off with water, which also didn't remove it very well, as my usual make up wipes had begun to sting my skin and I was scared to try anything new.
However I recently started using Clinique skin care, and I use their 'Naturally 1Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover' on my eyes and my redness solutions cleanser on the rest of my face. It was a revelation for me!
Good Luck!
