Re: lower abdnominal pain with heavy period
It is unusual for this product to trigger bleeding earlier than expected but it can happen. From the dates you provide it suggests that you took the tablet close to the day you would be expected to ovulate. By this point in the month the lining of the womb will have become thickened in readiness for the egg to implant. It is entirely plausible that the blocking action of the drug, acting on the lining of the womb, can cause it to break down with the appearence of a period. Are you certain however that your last period was normal? Pain to the extent that it is bothering you would be a little unusual and it would be wise to talk it through with your GP.

ASAP I would do a good quality urinary pregnancy test as it will be positive even with a very early or an abnormal pregnancy. If postive, you will need to see your local early pregnancy unit. If negative, until matters settle down I would use strict barrier methods of contraception.
