Bumbs and rashes on Mons Pubis

:o I have a very embarrassing Mons pubis. Since my teenage years, I have bums and rashes on my Mons pubis and now the hair do not grow anymore. I also have an outgrowth near my anus and it makes me feel so uncomfortable to have sex. Please advice will you give me.

Re: Bumbs and rashes on Mons Pubis

It's difficult to guess what the problem is from your description, but the bumps could be molluscum contagiosum (a non-serious viral infection confined to the skin which is passed by close bodily contact & is easily treatable, see: http://www.bad.org.uk/site/845/Default.aspx) or - if the bumps & rashes are cyclical (i.e. worse before menstruation) - it might be a dermatological condition called hiradenitis suppurativa http://www.bad.org.uk/site/825/Default.aspx, which is where the skin pores get blocked and large pustules develop in the sweat glands. Both are treatable and you should go to your GP or local sexual health clinic to get the correct diagnosis.
The perianal growth could be a wart or just a pile. If pain with sex is your principal concern, then go to your local sexual health clinic http://www.bashh.org/clinics.

Re: Bumbs and rashes on Mons Pubis

Thank you very much, this has certainly been helpful to me. From the information I read through the links you provided, my condition is hidradenitis suppurativa, even though I sometimes bleed slightly if I scratch. This condition has been there more than 15 years and now the pubic hair do not grow well, some areas do not grow at all. Can my hair growth be improved too when I get treatment. In all ways I am going to see my GP about this. You really helped :D .

Sorry I don't know about the hair growth - but your condition can be improved by antibiotics +/- hormones. If the initial treatment given by the GP doesn't work, then you should consider asking them to refer you to a dermatologist.
