vaginal pain
For the last 5 years I have been having pain in the left side of my vagina. It aways starts near to the opening and radiates and intensifies up the left side to the clitoris and last about an hour. The only way to describe the pain is like a really bad toothache and it mostly only happens at night .
I am 60 and otherwise in good health.

Re: vaginal pain
I would have a doctor take a look, and see if there is any local lesion as well as any other condition that could lead to referred pain in the area. If no obvious cause is found, this may respond to local injections or a medication taken at night such as amitriptyline.

Re: vaginal pain
It sounds like pudendal neuralgia (ie pain of the regional nerve bundle).
It would be interesting to find out if you had previous surgery or any triggers - exacerbating factors.
A series of pudendal nerve blocks may help.
If this is secondary to levator muscle spasm, an option may be to proceed with botulunim toxin (Botox) injections to the affected muscles
