tampon gets stuck sometimes

Sometimes when I try to take a tampon out it gets stuck on a loop of skin or tissue that is slightly obstructing the opening. Can this tissue be removed and how?

If you have never had intercourse, this band of tissue could be the hymen, which is normal. However, if you don't feel that this is the cause, I would have an examination with your doctor to see what the issue is.
