Longer lasting periods

I am 44 years old and have now had my period for 2 weeks. The last 4 months I have had pains in my legs during the first day or two of my period. Also some larger clots, should I get checked out or is this normal?

If heavy prolonged or iregular periods persist I would recommend a clinical consultation for examination along with an ultrasound scan to investigate this further.
