Swollen Nasal Glands and Sneezing
Hi,
I am hoping that somebody has come across this problem in the past and can give me the benefit of their experience.
Approx 12 months ago woke up with what I thought was a blocked nose as the the result of a cold. Usual symptoms, could just about breath though nose but could hardly smell or taste food. After 3 months of this I went to the Doctor who looked up my nose and said my glands were swollen so he told me to take Beconase which did not work and then Flikonase and this never worked either. The Doctor then sent me to a specialist who told me that my airways were clear and he would send me to have a head scan just in case it was a tumour. I asked him if the scan was clear what should I then do he just shrugged his shoulders as if to say, just deal with it. He said that most likely you have had a bad cold and this had destroyed the nerve endings in the nose. He then went to tell me about about a wine taster whom this had happened to and maybe it could be worse.
I was then given the all clear at the hospital I went back to my Doctor who has given me Nasonex and has more or less said that this will not most likely work but try it and if unsuccessful then he can't think of anything else. I asked him well how about an allergy test to which he replied that it is not done on the NHS.
I am now thinking of having an allergy test as a last resort to see if I have developed an allergy over the past 18 months as I spend most of my time indoors and at 57 I am not getting any younger. Along with all my other many ailments this is driving me mad as it can end up with my having a panic attack as I feel I cannot breath. I must finally add that I periodically have sneezing fits and have done so for the past 12 months and this is what leads me to think that I have developed an allergy.
Anyone on here can relate to the above?

Surprisingly, salt can help us treat sneezing. It can be seen as one of the best home remedies for sneezing as it is effectively antibacterial. It can relieve the pain in both the nose and the throat, which are affected most when you sneeze.
-Mix some spoons of salt into warm water.
-Use this mixture to gargle 4-5 times on a daily basis.

As your sinusitis side effects endure, you may likewise encounter an expansion in weakness and hardships focusing on everything except your breathing troubles and sinus torment. On the off chance that your sinusitis is set off by sensitivities, you could encounter tenacious sniffling, bothersome and watery eyes, and aggravation in your throat.
