3 miscarriages in a row

I had 3 miscarriages so far. I had two healthy boys 11 and 7years old. then in November 2011 lost twins at 18 and 24 weeks. on March 2012 I had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks (twins again), well recently February 2013 I had a miscarriage at 7weeks. I was wondering should I be referred to a consultant or not in this case as I started to worry and I still have the intention to get pregnant. I am actually over 35 of age and am not sure if age has its effect.

Re: 3 miscarriages in a row

Having three miscarriages in a row affects about 1 in 100 women. Most of the time no cause can be found for this, but it would be reasonable to have this looked into further. I would recommend that you talk to your GP about investigations and being referred to a consultant. There is also a good website with lots more information: www.miscarriageassociation.org.uk. I hope this helps.
