severe reaction to exposed rockwool in work

I recently experienced a severe reaction to exposed Rockwool which caused my skin to start itching and feeling like tiny needles going into my skin all over my body. Hives sprang up everywhere including in my nose, ears, mouth, throat and other personal areas of my body. I also started to have breathing problems and my existing asthma flared up alarmingly. Has anyone else experienced something like this? Any ideas how long the itching lasts?
