Constipation and suppliments

I have been giving my husband glucosamine, msm, chondroitin, rose hip, turmeric, flax and Vit c for the past six months. He had very bad knee pain but it's a lot better now. However, he spent the day in hospital yesterday with terrible stomach pains and was eventually diagnosed with compacted feces around his gut. They said it had probably been building up for quite a while. Now I'm worried it could be the suppliments causing this? Any thoughts?

Re: Constipation and suppliments

.A diet high in saturated fat slows motility-and the longer the stool stays in the intestine, the more likely it is to harden and interfere with normal bowel movements.

Go natural - aka fiber, fiber, and more fiber to get relieve from constipation.

It would be better if you make some changes on your husbands diet. Make him chomp on fiber-rich foods to make his stool softer and easier to remove.

Re: Constipation and suppliments

Supplements meant to support your diet are are in fact helpful. Although they are not easily digested compared to natural foods. They should not replaced with meals and must be consumed only if there is a need for it.
