Re: Pregnant with? an STI

You must be having a terrible time!

There could be many reasons for blisters appearing around your vagina. Herpes infection is an STI that can give you similar symptoms and can be very painful. Many harmless vaginal infections such as thrush can occur during pregnancy.

If you think you have an STI, it is possible you might have caught others too. I suggest you go to a sexual health clinic or your GP where they will be able to do the STI testing, offer you treatment and talk to you about what you want to do about your pregnancy. Some infections can affect the pregnancy but can be treated even if you are pregnant.

PS If you feel unsure about your pregnancy, have a chat with someone from the FPA (formerly Family Planning Association), MSI (Marie Stopes International) or BPAS (British Pregnancy Advisory Service).
