It sounds as if you might have a little gastritis or gastric irritation. You say you don't drink very much or smoke, but what was going on when this first started? Had you had a celebration, had you eaten or drunk too much or did something happen that worried or upset you? And if the latter was the case, are you still affected by it. When something happens, its often the gut that keeps the score!

i'm so sorry to hear that, but such a traumatic loss is very likely to have affected you and it's not at all uncommon for such upset to be felt in your body. In your case, your stomach keeps the score. The emotional tension would likely have increased acid secretion and alterned motility and acid secretion. Yes, you should carry on treating your symptoms, but you may well need help dealing with what has happened in terms of counselling and perhaps a small dose of antidepressants. I would be inclined not to add to the stress by dieting. You will get over this first, but it will take its time.
