Long term problem

I have suffered with bladder problems for over a year (age 33) and the treatment I have been given doesnt seem to help. I have been treated for IC with Vesicare which doesnt make any difference. My stomach enlarges (like it has been inflated) and feels like a huge pressure making me need to go for a couple of hours at a time. This happens regardless of if I eaten or not. I also have incredible pain in my cocyxx (for the last year also) where by I cant sit for more than couple of minutes. Any advice would be much appriciated. Thank you.

Re: Long term problem

Hello, have you been assessed by your local continence advisory service? If not ask your GP to consider referring you to them. There re many options when it comes to the treatment of urinary incontinence and your local continence nurse will be able to offer you support and guidance. Equally if you have been seen by them but it was some time ago it is worth asking to be reviewed.

In the meantime you may find it helpful to speak to a continence adviser at the Bladder & Bowel Foundation. Call 0845 345 0165, leave your name and number and an adviser will call you back.

Vesicare is usually prescribed for people with overactive bladdder not IC.. It may be worth going back to your Urologist for assessment on other treatments.. As for the bloating this sounds bowel related and they may need to refer you to a dietician or Consultant...
