Fibromyalgia and hypermobilility syndrome and EDS

When I was younger I was diagnosed with hypermobility syndrome and not too long after with FM. I didn't get any treatment or anything for either. Decades later I was put on Lyrica for a migraine preventative and I remain on it for the FM.
Is it common for children diagnosed with hypermobility syndrome and then later FM to be misdiagnosed? I wonder only because EDS hypermobility III has quite a few symptom overlap. And I am curious how often EDS was diagnosed twenty or so years ago.
