Blood sugar level drops

I was diagnosed with ME/CFS 2 yrs ago and estimated i'd had it for 7 yrs before that.Periodically I feel my blood sugar levels drop with what feels like an adrenalin rush. This is rapidly followed by a fanatical sugar craving and readily rectifies itself. The worrying thing is how quickly this happens and I have had breakfast or lunch a couple of hours prior to this happening.
I should mention that when I get these bouts it usually coincides with times that I have gut upset episodes: milk /coffee intolerance, irregular bowel often diarrhoea.
Any explanation?

Re: Blood sugar level drops

Hello
I wish we could explain more about many of the symptoms in ME/CFS. We are aware that many do report symptoms which are similar to when the blood sugar goes too low. My understanding is that perhaps some people are more sensitive to changes in blood sugar levels even if these are still within the normal range. Many with ME/CFS also report not only sensitivity to blood sugar levels, but also smells, caffeine, alcohol, light etc. I cannot offer an explanation except that you are not alone in experiencing these problems. Assuming it is sensitivity to changes in blood sugar the solution would be to eat a little and often and to include slower release low GI carbohydrates most times to keep blood sugar levels steadier.
