Hypermobility or ME?

My son has had fatigue symptoms on and off for about 6 years, initially being diagnosed with mild neutropeania from blood tests, but with no treatment advised. We just managed his activity levels.
As he has been going through rapid growth spurts his symptoms escalated and he was referred back to a paediatrician, who diagnosed hypermobility and low vitamin D. High dose vitamin D and the unusual sunshine lately do not seem to have made much difference,
Whilst I understand how hypermobility can lead to fatigue it is difficult to know how to proceed when he was struggling with school ( without PE) and is currently fatigued after short outings ( 1-2hours moderate activity) with the classic time delay.
Having ME it is the last thing I would wish on my son, but I need to make sure he is doing as much as he can with exams next year.
