New diagnosis- what next

Hello- I've been off work for the past few months and my GP and me have come to the conclusion that I have mild chronic fatigue syndrome. My GP says there are no specialists within the nhs for further treatment. Is this correct? What should I do next? I have been advised to try pacing and graded exercise. Plus can anyone's give me any tips on the best way to manage employment effectively?
Thanks .

" I have been advised to try pacing and graded exercise. Plus can anyone's give me any tips on the best way to manage employment effectively?"

On the first this can be done well, and badly. Sound advice is needed.
And on the second a support group can be well-placed for this, either live and local or on-line.

I have one of the latter I've found superb, but haven't been cleared yet to post its url here by the forum bosses, (it may be against rules here, anyway: another check.)

The most basic idea is to "lighten ship". Chucking overboard anything and everything as necessary until your expenditure of energy (and not just physical: mental and emotional stress and effort costs, too) is a significant bit the right side of "sustainable without provoking reactions."

It can mean changing things outside of work so you have more energy reserves to spend on work.
(I know... not what we want to do.)
On-line shopping was one decided saving for me, rather than going to the supermarket for the weekly shop: the driving, the lifting, the trolley-pushing etc. .

But we vary, by condition and by priorities and by situation, so specifics become quite individual.

Chris.

Thanks for the tips! I live in Cardiff. Wales seems tobe poorly resourced, although there is something in mid Wales. I've also been practicing Mindfulness and finding this helpful- particularly in relation to helping with pacing.
I have also made an appointment to see someone privately.

I really like what you said about lightening the ship Chris. That makes a lot of sense :) cheers.
