ME and OCD
My daughter was diagnosed with ME 5 years ago and in the past 12months has developed quite severe OCD her quality of life is poor and i was wondering if there was a connection between the two, there is not a specialist ME service in our area and our Dr says there is nothing else he can do for her we are at our wits end as she feels she has been abandoned. We live in the Stoke on Trent area. Is there anyone who can help us?

Firstly, there isn't any research evidence to show that OCD is more common in people with ME/CFS or that OCD predisposes people to developing ME/CFS
Secondly, the MEA website NHS services directory has details of an ME/CFS specialist service in Staffordshire:
Staffordshire
Tel: 01543 576609 Fax: 01543 576608 (Correspondence to M. Wong)
The ME/CFS service is provided within the Department of Psychology (Physical Health Psychology and Rehabilitation), Cannock Chase Hospital, Brunswick Road, Cannock WS11 5XY
Thirdly, there are a number of psychological therapies that might be of help regarding her OCD - has this been discussed with either the GP or a clinical psychologist?

Re: ME and OCD
I just thought I'd mention that my daughter also developed OCD after several years with M.E.
