Hunger / Abdominal discomfort

Hello,

I have been diagnosed with CFS.

I've been experiencing, for several months now, an unpleasant feeling of hunger at varying times throughout the day. The hunger is best described as a gnawing hollowness with the abdomen a little tender to the touch and sometimes some gurgling / churning sounds. It is most apparent first thing in a morning and then every 3-4 hours throughout the day. The symptoms are only relived by eating are are relieved within minutes. To this end I try to eat small, frequent meals to reduce these symptoms and as a result am slowly gaining weight.

The most unpleasant thing is that if I do not eat to relieve the symptoms, even if it is not a meal time, I become very unwell with what can only be described as symptoms of hypoglycaemia: non-rotational dizziness / light-headedness, confusion, profuse sweating, tremor, fasciculations & severe anxiety / panic to the extent where I need to take to bed until symptoms are alleviated through eating.

I have checked my blood sugar at the height of these symptoms and it reads normal. Blood pressure is also fine at these times. The only medication I take is propranolol for arrhythmia / tremor. I have had the standard blood tests one would expect for diabetes and a celiac screen. I had an abdominal ultrasound around 12 months ago, before these symptoms started, which was fine.

My GP believes that this problem is attributed to my CFS. I've been referred to a specialist CFS/ME clinic. I am worried that these symptoms are more sinister. Is there anything that I could bring to my GP's attention?

Thanks for your time.
