Re: Recovery
There is very little in the way of solid research information relating to what factors help recovery in ME/CFS
My personal view is that improvement and increasing the chances of partial/full recovery in ME/CFS is very much related to:
1 An early and accurate diagnosis
2 Sensible advice relating to activity management according to stage, severity and clinical presentation
3 Good management of key symptoms: pain, sleep disturbance etc and (where it occurs as a result of having ME/CFS) depression and/or psychosocial distress
4 On-going support with benefit applications, education, employment
The MEA has an information leaflet covering Prognosis and Permanency which summaries all the current evidence on outcomes in ME/CFS
MEA website and pdf literature form: http://www.meassociation.org.uk
