Are there any centres where people with M.E. can go and stay

Just a thought, but wouldn't it be lovely to be able to stay in a nice centre for a few days with like-minded people who understood your condition and medical staff around who believe and understand you and are there to help if things get tough? I know it would help my family (carers!) if they could get a break from me sometimes too!

There are a few centres in the private sector that offer this type of approach, or respite care
The MEA has a list if you need one

Hannah Clifton, who I met through an ex-boss (who is now a Trustee of this charity, and frankly without his support I wouldn't have got diagnosed or any treatment for ME/CFS and who with his team bent over backwards to help me stay working on a project with his firm. I am hugely and eternally grateful to him for this) - set up this charity.

They aim to fund ONE bed at Burrswood specifically for ME/CFS sufferers who couldn't otherwise afford it.
On a personal note, I met her in 2009 and it was a real reassurance and inspiration to hear how bad her severe ME/CFS was, and how much of her life she lost, and how Burrswood helped her get from totally bedbound to up & about with significant recovery.

I have met Hannah - she came to the last meeting of the Forward ME Group of charities (Chairman: Countess of Mar) at the House of Lords
