eczema and thumbnails

Hi. For about the past ten years or so, my thumbnails have been rough and flaky. (My fingernails are fine.) My GP said this was due to eczema, and there was nothing that could be done. Later, I gave samples of my nails to rule out fungal infection - tests came back clear. So: do I just live with it, or is there something that can be done? (I'm aware that it's only a cosmetic problem, and comparatively trivial compared to some of the cases mentioned here. But I would like to have presentable nails again.)

Re: eczema and thumbnails

Thanks for your reply, Sheila. I have done nothing with my nails for ten years - as I said, my GP said there was nothing to be done. However, it might be worth trying again ...
