Psoriatic arthritis

I have just posted about having psoriasis - which at one point I had very badly but now have a few spots scattered across my body. However I have found my hips really start to hurt and was tested a few years ago for rheumatism and it was negative. This has now come back - please can you tell me whether I need to watch out for psoriatic arthritis and what should I be looking out for, because I presume I could be prone to this?

Many thanks again

Re: Psoriatic arthritis

Dear Jackie,
I completely agree with Sheila. One can have mild skin psoriasis and severe psoriatic arthritis and sometimes the other way round (or any combinations of these). You need to see your GP and he/she may refer you to a rheumatologist, depending on how bad your joints, are for assessment and if necessary systemic treatment(s) including biologics.

I hope this is helpful.
