Your history of large cysts which can burst and leaving scars sounds more like Hydradenitis Suppurativa although this usually affects the creases such as the axillae (armpits.) In any case I would suggest you return to your GP and request further referral to a dermatologist since you do not have typical acne amenable to standard GP treatment.
