8 years boy with bad eczema for 3 months now

Hi there
My son is 8 years old, always had a dry skin but it was never an issue. However around 3 months ago, both his arms and face became really bad, with white marks everywhere that itch specially when he sleeping and can't help himself to scratch and make it worst to the point to bleed. I can see that is already appearing the same marks on his legs and his back.
His doctor asked me to change the washing power for non-alergic, which I have done. Also gave him the E45 shower liquid but is not helping at all. I can see that my son's behaviour is already changing as he is not happy to socialise as before and always praying to God for help.
I know there are people with so much big problems and illness, but I can't just use this as excuse and not looking for something to make my baby health again.
I would appreciate if you could give me an professional advise as the doctor without do any bloody or skim examination, saying to me that this cannot be cured and my son will have to deal with it forever :( I can't accept it and really need a help.
Many thanks!

Re: 8 years boy with bad eczema for 3 months now

Thank you so much for your reply Sheila.
Regarding to your questions:
My son use Diprobase Cream at least twice a day. He also has the E45 for bath, however he normally has shower.
His doctor haven't mention about antihistamine but I will book an appointment with her this week and bring all ur suggestions to discussion.
No, nobody else in the family has the same kind of itchy. I actually do feel very itchy sometimes from had to toe, but only when I have fibromyalgia crises that is connect to stress. So I don't think will be the case :(
Thank you so much, ur suggestions and comments opened a bit more the options for me and also the hopes.
Kind regards,
Katie
