After 25+ years of psoriasis my skin is clear

First off I am a 49 male. When I was about 22 I noticed my first spots of psoriasis on my elbows and below my elbows. I hated the way it looked. I tried creams but nothing kept it at bay and it always came back. Around 2005 I had a couple spots of psoriasis form in my one of my arm pits and a spot in my groin area. I noticed keeping things clean shaven made the psoriasis disappear but it would come back if I let the hair regrow. So in 2006 I sprung for laser hair removal on my armpits, groin, and lower back. The psoriasis has stayed away from those areas and it is smooth. Then my legs, especially my right leg, got really bad all around the ankle. For years the itching and scaling it was a nightmare. I tried creams but nothing helped. It would dull the itching but that was it. The fast forward to 2020 and I decided to try something during the March/April quarantine so I shaved my legs and soon after my arms too. As in years past I have also spent time out in the sun, which always helped a little. Having smooth legs made applying lotion so much easier and it is something that I do daily now. I hated lotion before because it made the hair look matted or greasy. The hair on my legs and arms used to drive me crazy as it was very itchy. It was coarse and would rub my skin so I think it was doing damage. Well shaving was a game changer. The psoriasis is gone, likely total gone. I know I still have something that causes in my body as it has now manifested as an occasional gout flare up in my left index toe. Being a guy I felt weird about shaving my legs at first and my wife wasn't very fond of it but now I don't care and I love the clean shaven and freshly applied lotion feeling. Even my wife has come around. Her new thing is sleeping with one of her legs on mine since she likes how it feels. My right leg is slightly scared from where the psoriasis used to be but it is completely smooth now. I know it may come back but I will keep doing what I am doing and hope to hold it at bay.

I hope this finds someone and gives them some relief.

See a specialist dermatologist and request immunosuppressent injections.
40 years of severe psoriasis, after 3 once a month self administered injections (and I have a real phobia of needles), no more psoriasis and no side effects.
The injection is like a combipen style and is given in the upper thigh or lower abdomen.
So many years of creams, lotions and potions every day, some were 3 times a day, for very little reward, now 1 simple injection once a month, in private, and you would never know. Not even a red patch of skin, just "normal" looking skin, wherever you look.
This treatment should be made available much earlier in the treatment process for severe cases of psoriasis.

I never would've thought of using injections to treat psoriasis, but that is a really good suggestion. It is something anyone suffering the condition research. Skin conditions ARE possible to treat, so anyone with a skin condition, don't give up: keep pushing your doctor into treating you. And do also research treatments online [but using valid, professional websites that aren't just gimmicks].
