I tried to put a topic about my husbands loss of "pee" ability after a new knee op. and 1 month on indwelling catheter. After removal of this he has to selfcath and has a small "pee" by himself now and again. He is worried he will never return to the normal "peeing" that he had before the op. Would love any comments from Anybody who may have had, or have, similar experiences.Ido not understand this site as I could not find my previous post, just a couple of days ago, nor any responses. How does one look up replies if any?

Your husband would benefit from a review with his local Continence Advisory Service. His GP can refer him..It can take time for the bladder to return to normal after a period of time with an indwelling catheter.

He may find it useful to talk to the Helpline team at the Bladder & Bowel Foundation - if so please call 0845 345 0165 and leave a contact name and number. You will receive a return call from one of our clinical specialists.

I would agree - definitely worth discussing with his GP - I would want to examine his prostate and it may be worth trying some medication to improve the flow called an 'alpha blocker' - with some professional input I'm sure his symptoms could be improved.
