Bloated stomach-loose stool

I have been going through bouts of bloated stomach and loose stool for more than six months now. I have done endoscopy, colonoscopy, stool analysis, h pylori (stool and blood),Urine analysis,ESR,CBC,B12.The results were fine except for the following :
ESR is slightly above the reference range ;the result was 14 while the reference range is 0-10 . WBC count is slightly below normal;the result is 3.7 while the reference range is 4-12 . B12 the result is 382 while the reference range is 400-700.
I have bouts of pain (not severe) in the area right below the belly button and right above the groin area. My stomach is full of wind and I have an urge to go to the toilet right after eating . The stool colour is brownish, loose, and no blood. I have heartburn sometimes.
I am 37 old male ,weight is 67kg,height is 182cm ,and don't suffer from any disease. My parents are healthy and don't have any diseases.
I don't drink ,but I smoke .I am not taking any medicines and never experienced these symptoms before.

Thank you in advance

Re: Bloated stomach-loose stool

Hi

apologies for delay in replying - we missed the deadline at the end of the clinic.

I am sorry to hear of the problems you are having. It is obviously difficult to give advice in this setting due to the comoplex investigations you have already had - however, if those tests are normal, it does suggest that the most likely diagnosis is severe irritable bowel syndrome due to your symptoms of bloating, wind, abdominal discomfort and frequent loose stools. If you are not already, you probably need to be under the care of a gastroenterologist as you are clearly not progressing despite 6 months of symptoms. I presume you have been tested to exclude coeliac disease?

I would also suggest that a dietitian would be helpful for you - there is increasing evidence in the beneficial role of dietary change in IBS (if that is what you have) especially a new diet called low FODMAP - worth looking into....

Good luck - hope things start to improve soon.
