Medication and alcohol
I have been on medication for just over a year and have recently missed a few days, usually with alcohol I am fine but had a bad episode on Thursday night where I became very suicidal and taken home by a manager. Is it normal to get this way after missing medication?
Re: Medication and alcohol
Hi Babyface
It would of course depend on the medication, but mixing alcohol, a depressant when drunk beyond the safe guidelines of 2 to 3 units a day, that is no more than a standard glass 175ml of wine a day, with a change to that medication could indeed cause problems. Your body will have got used to managing your drinking alongside the drug, I hope that your GP would have given you advice on outcomes if you did stop taking it Babyface.
I am sure you must have been very frightened.
