prolapse

Can you still get a prolapse if you have had a hysterectomy. I find it difficult to pass stools sometimes but if I put a finger into my vagina I can push the stools backwards towards my rectum which helps.

Re: prolapse

Hi
Yes you can have what is called a rectal prolapse- where part of the bowel comes through into the vagina :)

Re: prolapse

To add to Jenny's comment. There is the possibility that prolapse is more likely after hysterectomy as the top of the vagina will have lost some of its support. It is also possibe that if you had menopause early as a result that the loss of estrogen could further reduce the natural support.
