Itchy

Hello
I had eczema for most of my life and I got rid of it for 20 years, as soon as I
went into menopause it has come back with a vengence .

I am so itchy it is ruling my life. Is this a menopause thing.?

I am on HRT and using cortisone creams and moisturizers.
I have just started taking evening primrose as well.

Thankyou

Re: Itchy

Hi,

your eczema may be related to the menopause. However i would expect it to improve if you are taking HRT. Perhaps your dose isnt adequate for you. Do you have any other low oestragen symptoms, such as hot flushes, night sweats, poor sleep, headaches, mood disturbance, urinary symptoms or joint pains. If so, you may need to increase the dose of oestragen in the HRT preparation.
Talk to your GP.
