HPV and smear

I was wondering is it possible to be tested for hpv while having a smear done, I know they do it if you have irregular cells showing but can we ask to be tested anyway and possibly have vaccine if comes back clear?

Thanks

Re: HPV and smear

Yes it is very possible, but not all NHS services may do the HPV typing. The majority of the population have some form of HPV, but you can still have the vaccination becuase a. you may not already have types 16,18 of HPV and b. even if you do, the vaccine can slow down the progression.

Re: HPV and smear

Hiya, I had a loop biopsy last year as I had a small amount of CIN 2 cells, will this affect my chances of getting pregnant? A few of my friends have had difficulties trying to conceive after having this procedure
