CystitIs and Trimethoprim

Hello, please could someone help me out.
It's the weekend and I've got Cystitis, I've had it many times before so know the symptoms well; feeling the need to wee very often, and burning when passing urine.
I have just found some Trimethoprim 200mg tablets in my medicine cupboard from just under 3 years ago and have researched the shelf life, it's 36 months.
Anyhoo, no doctors open and its causing me complete discomfort and I've been trying to flush it out by drinking lots of water.
I really want to take the tablets. Any thoughts on this?

Re: CystitIs and Trimethoprim

It is unlikely to do any harm but less likely to be effective than in date antibiotics
You really should get a urine sample off before starting anything so the lab can see what actual bug it is
Suggest do a sample, start old Abx, get news Abx tomorrow am from GP
