Lichen Planus

Hi, I have had lichen planus on both my lower legs for many years now. Originally I was told it was untreatable and was wondering if anything new had come out in the past few decades to treat this? I have also over the past few years had several pea shaped lumps appear under my armpit and this week a golf sized lump at the top of my right leg which has grown and is changing shape. It is very red and is painful to sit on. Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: Lichen Planus

Hi Chris,

Lichen planus is an inflammatory skin condition which can burn itself out but we do have many treatment options we can offer patients from creams, tablets, injections and light therapy. If you have not seen a Consultant Dermatologist recently about it, ask your GP to refer you.

Regarding the lumps, I would advise you pop along to your GP as soon as possible especially to get the lump on your leg assessed.
