sore bottom!

Hi, im a bit embarrassed but for about 2 months now I have had a sore bum crease and area where the cheeks meet that started in the summer heat. I do a lot of exercise and thought it might be due to wearing lycra leggings etc. most of the day. it has never happened before and i have tried to treat it unsuccessfully with: cortisol cream, honey barrier cream, canasten cream..... I think it may now have become infected. sometimes the skin splits and it gets really sore. I have read online that a lot of chefs get this in summer? its really uncomfortable and unsightly but im not sure it warrants a doctors appt. Can you advise? 
Skin problems can be embarrassing, but it really is worth getting them checked out and treated properly. My hunch is that your GP needs to see it!
