diarreah
Hello, my name is Connor and I have had diarreah these past couple of days. Everytime I eat I need to go to the toilet, I always have dry lips but when I do drink I have to go the toilet right after, also when I wake up in the morning I leave little patches of diarreah on the bed but it must happen when I'm asleep. Am I ok???

Re: diarreah
Clearly not. it sounds as if something has made your bowel very sensitive and reactive. Eating and drinking can cause the colon to contract but only likely to make you incontinent or want to go to the toilet if your bowel has become very sensitive. Perhaps you have have had a bowel infection or changed your diet or medications. I imagine this has now cleared but if not do go and see your doctor. It could be that Imodium or something that Questran that binds bile acids may help you. See The IBS Self Care Plan on treatment of diarrhoea (http://www.theibsnetwork.org/the-self-c ... medicines/)

Hi Connor
I would agree with Dr Read you should go and see your doctor if this does not clear up as some conditions have diarrhoea as symptoms and this would need investigating. If you are still having diarrhoea ensure you are drinking adequate amounts of fluid - your urine should be pale yellow, this will show you are getting enough. Do not make changes to your diet before visiting your doctor.
