I think you are describing a symptom you have (one of burning) but it is highly unlikely that the PPIs will have actually caused damage in the sense of 'visible burning' to your stomach. It is very common for patients to have burning/pain/fullness/discomfort but with a completely normal looking stomach at endoscopy exam. You have since tried H2 blockers and it is a shame they do not work for you. What about simpler remedies such as gaviscon which simply coats the stomach liner and protects it from acid. Or even milk of magnesia? Having said that the PPIs are pretty safe and almost switch off all gastric acid production if you take them on a daily basis....
