eczema detox as a healing approach for eczema?

Anyone has tried a eczema detox as a healing approach for eczema?

Right now I am almost a year into tsw and I have changed my diet recently for almost a month as follows.

-Breakfast(mainly fruits) - I ate 2 bananas, 1 apple, 1 pear/orange, some blueberries and an avocado

-In between breakfast and lunch, I ate 2 tablespoons of pumpkin seeds.

-Lunch - Vegetables of any kind, tofu and brown rice. once in a while I ate salmon

-In between lunch and dinner, I ate salad comprising of rootbeets and apple cider vinegar or lemon

-Dinner - Vegetables of any kind and several sweet potatoes.

What I noticed on my skin after the change of diet for almost a month.
- My skin becomes extremely dry
- My body flared up again.

What I know is the body will flare up again during the process of eczema detox but I am not sure whether experiencing the "extremely dry skin" is part of a symptom of eczema detox.

Please advise. Thanks.

Hi! I'm not sure about eczema detox.. it'd be good to reduce inflammatory foods like sugar and trans fat, and also refrain from consuming too much meat.. other than that, not sure if there's a medical basis for sticking to certain diet

Can read a dermatologist tip here

Re: eczema detox as a healing approach for eczema?

Hi,
As our skin health and immunity is generally compromised, I would not suggest to go on an extreme diet but to ensure we balance our daily nutrition intake while avoiding the highly allergenic and itch-causing food.

I would highly recommend to adopt an alkaline food based eczema friendly diet. The general guidelines are :
- Minimize or totally cut off all processed food, carbonated drinks, artificial coloring and flavoring food.
- Avoid dairy product : Generally dairy product are not good for the gastrointestinal tract as it can cause leaky gut syndrome. If you have any infection, dairy and sugar "food" for bacteria to feed on and it will aggravate the rashes symptoms.
- Drink plenty of filtered clean boiled water, at least 2 litres or 8 glasses a day.
- Lemon/Lime squeezed in a glass of water with a pinch of sea salt is highly alkalizing and full of Vitamin C which is good for daily consumption.
- Add fresh fruits and vegetables into your diet but ensure you replace or avoid itch-causing food and vegetables which has natural chemicals which may trigger itchiness. You can read more here :

- Ensure you eat omega-3 rich fish like salmon and tuna and good protein like lean chicken. Protein and Vitamin Bs are needed to ensure skin repair and building.
- Minimize refined sugar and refined wheat flour products.

It's not easy to do a sudden diet change, I suggest to do it in stages. All the best and I hope you will fine relief via diet adaptation which I found amazingly minimized my itch and inflammation.
