Eczema?

Hello! I have recently discovered a rash of some sort on my hand and I am not sure if it is eczema or not. I have not been formally diagnosed since I do not have insurance at the moment and want to avoid seeing a doctor at all costs. I have done some research on my own and I think it might be eczema. I have uploaded a photo of the infected area. Can someone living with eczema tell me for sure it is what I think it is? Also, I’m 28 years old and have never had an outbreak before. Does this just occur one day out of the blue?

Re: Eczema?

Hi,

Sorry to hear of the rash (the photo didn't load) but eczema typically doesn't appear out of the blue. However, contact eczema due to sensitivity to chemicals or products can develop overtime and therefore may seem to appear suddenly during adult. Safe measures to use without diagnosis would be practicing good skincare routine and keeping staph bacteria count low (use diluted chlorhexidine gluconate). Avoid products with irritants, such as fragrance, propylene glycol and parabens. Moisturizing is important too, a lower cost safe moisturizer to use is QV.

Hope all get better for you,
