Spice allergy
Hi
I've never been tasted as I've always thought the doctors would of laughed me out of the room but for the last 3 years I have been unable to consume anything that contains black/white pepper. I can always tell if it is in my food within 1 bite. My throat starts to itch swell, I get red marks all over my neck, I would start to cough quite relentlessly and my temperature will raise too the full experience is completely uncomfortable and felt feeling quite unwell.
I try to avoid pepper at all costs but this is very difficult considering it is such a common spice. I have read somewhere on the NHS website that people that a spice allergy is common with people that suffer from asthma and eczema but I've never read anywhere someone being allergic to pepper.
Is this even possible and what do I do about it???
